Interview with a Soil Ecologist – Tim Crews

Tim Crews, Director of Research and soil ecologist for The Land Institute talks about his research around the development and maintenance of soil fertility. He has a special interest in nitrogen fixation and has developed KernzaKernza^®-alfalfa intercropping experiments to test how legumes like alfalfa could help share this critical nutrient with other nearby crops. In addition, the biculture plots allow for other experiments like pest and pathogen pressures as well as water resource allocations. Read the interview here.
