Dan Charles from NPR asked about Kernza^®, “Can this Breakfast Cereal Help Save the Planet?” He spoke with scientists at The Land Institute on how perennial grains could help save soil and the environment, but with the acknowledgement that the process of breeding a completely new crop is a long one. And Maria Carolina Comings, marketing director for General Mills’ organic brand, Cascadian Farm, spoke about why her company wants to be part of the climate change food solution by investing in perennial grains now.
